1. Can we track the Patent hits - where and from whom?

Our IT people say a request is simply not possible technically, nor is it commercially feasible for us to contemplate. We could track each and every person who makes a hit on the Pipers website and target them based on the history of the pages they look at - but unfortunately there's the problem of the ISP (Internet Service Provider). The ISP server lies between us and the world and this completely stops our ability to do this sort of tracking and reporting.

2. Do you mean those annoying pop-ups?

No. We are not talking pop-ups ... but Banner Ads. Also, to clarify things, the PIPERS site is a public site (for the most part) not requiring a log-in and because of the ISA interface we can only track What pages are being hit and how often...... We cannot determine WHO.

3. What are the advantages of such a Banner Ad?

The Banner ads are designed to target people based on the pages they look at by placing ads on the page, or pages, that are relevant to that page. That is, they are object/client/user specific. This provides a great advantage to advertisers as it means that anyone clicking on the banner is a valid potential client - there is no "wastage".

4. What about Conflict with Competitors?

In most respects Advertisers will place Ads on selected pages. Competing firms will not be allowed to advertise on the same pages. Most Ads will be cyclic in the sense that each time a user revisits the page the advertisement is randomly chosen from among a list of ads for that page.

5. Can we use a Gif as the medium?

The ads could be animated gif's. This would provide a bit more attraction at the expense of an increased download time.

Other Important points

1. The banner size quoted above relates to the head banner space, seen on every page on a site, and showing randomly one of the pictures designated as a "Banner".

2. Every Effort will be made to ensure exclusivity for our advertisers so that competitors and conflicts of interest do not occur.

3. The ability to place a Banner on the portal page is considered "prime real estate" and will be limited to only 10 Advertisers in a cycling process. The Banner Ads are cyclic in the sense that each time the page is visited, the advertisement is randomly chosen from among those 10 ads for that page. The fact that your firm’s banner will be on the Front Portal page means it will be viewed by everyone entering the site, depending on the cycle.

4. Each and every banner is tracked for click-throughs and views. In other words if you click through to the site at which the banner points then this is recorded, if the banner is merely presented to you then this is recorded. We do NOT record who looked at it. We can however provide you with a report of the number of hits.
