Peter specialises in mechanical and electro-mechanical patent drafting and prosecution activities at PIPERS. He has worked in the field of mechanical engineering since 1979 when he began his training to become a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer at Air New Zealand. He later gained further mechanical engineering qualifications at NZCE and Bachelor of Engineering levels, and continued on to gain professional qualifications as a Chartered Engineer of the London Engineering Council and as a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society of the United Kingdom.
During his 26 years in engineering Peter has worked in New Zealand, Fiji and in England, at both trade and professional levels. Before transferring to the Intellectual Property field 3 years ago Peter was working as a project engineer for a start-up UK based airline working with airframe and airframe component manufacturers in the development of airliner configurations to suit the competitive European holiday airline requirements.
Peter is now based in the Waikato providing IP advice to clients in upper half of the North Island and, via the internet and video conferencing, to electronics firms as far away as South East Asia.
When not representing clients Peter enjoys time with his family, tinkering with contraptions and keeping fit.
