Peter has over twenty years experience in the mechanical and electronics IP fields where he was a Principal Examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand. Peter’s vast experience also extends to the primary industries and mechanical fields, and is further enhanced by ten years in the IT industry. He joined PIPERS in 2002.
Peter advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property law and, in particular, on the protection, registration and licensing of patents in the computer and information technology areas. Peter’s clients include both new entrants to, and established players in, the competitive IT and electronics industries.
Peter holds an enviable reputation amongst those in the IP profession as being a skillful patent drafter and prosecutor of complex electronics and IT patents and, for gaining robust protection for his clients in these areas.
Peter is renowned for his problem solving abilities and is in great demand both from within and from outside of PIPERS.
When not at work, Peter can usually be found helping out at the local Carting track, fixing any manner of mechanical or electrical device, or enjoying a coffee and the company of close friends.
